The Scotch Cup is an annual event sponsored by the Club whereby the   lowest 10 handicapped women are paired with the 10 lowest handicapped  men in an alternate shot format tournament.    It is held in the afternoon  following the Member/Member Tournament.  Competitors must participate  in the Member/Member Tournament.  WLGA Championship is an annual three day gross stroke play tournament  for those contending for the Club Championship.   Super Senior Championship is an annual gross stroke play  tournament  for ladies age 65 and over   
LADIES CHALLENGE CUP (LCC) Ladies Challenge Cup   LCC is a fun competition among  10 member Clubs using match play format.   There are two divisions consisting of five clubs each.  Each club will field a  team composed of ten players with a handicap of 25 or less.  If a club  cannot field a team with 10 players meeting the 25 handicap maximum,  players otherwise eligible may compete, but must do so with a maximum  handicap of 25.  (See WLGA Standing Rule 17)  Each club plays their  opponents at their home course (home) once and at their opponents'  course(away) once.  A  two-player team from each club plays an opposing  two-player team for 18 holes, scoring a point for gross and net win per hole.   If teams tie on a hole, .5 point is credited to each team.  points "count".  The  winners, both gross and net, are determined by the cumulative total at year  end.   Trophies and plaques are awarded at the end of season luncheon. The cost  for each player to play each match is the cost of a cart for the course that is  played.  
WLGA members may participate in interclub play whereby the members compete at other area golf clubs.  The interclub fee is $50.00.  This includes green fee, cart, prizes, and lunch.    Bluebonnet Interclub competition is flighted stroke play with gross and net prizes. Northwoods Interclub competition is Flighted Stableford play. The Bradley Cup is an annual 2-day NET tournament played in honor   of Harry and Helen Bradley, former residents and longtime friends of Walden.  They donated the trophy that resides at the Club and carries the names of each year’s winning player. The Past Presidents Tournament is an annual one day tournament honoring   the WLGA Past Presidents.  Generally the Past Presidents are invited to lunch or brunch with all the players participating.  If a Walden Golf Club member, a Past President may play in the tournament. The Member/Member Tournament is an annual 2 day tournament typically   with the first day being a scramble and the second day a 6/6/6/ format.  There is generally a ten stroke differential limitation. The WALDEN CUP is a Ryder Cup style competition played on the first weekend   in November.  Members qualify by accumulating points earned by playing   in the five qualifying tournaments which include the Bradley Cup,   Past Presidents Tournament, Match Play Tournament,   Member/Member Tournament and the Club Championship.   5 points are earned for each tournament day played.  In addition, 15 points are earned for 1st place, 10 points for 2nd place and 5 points for 3rd place in tournament flights.  Should two players tie in points accumulated, the tie will be broken by tournaments played in the following order:  Club Championship, Match Play,   Bradley Cup, Member/Member, Past President.  If a member played   in all the qualifying tournaments, she would collect 45 points.

MEMBERSHIP You are cordially invited to join the Walden Ladies Golf Association. The Walden Ladies Golf Association promotes good fellowship and sportsmanship  among its members through weekly play days, monthly LGA tournaments, as  well as special local and interclub tournaments. Joining the Walden Ladies Golf Association is a wonderful way to meet  other ladies who enjoy the great game of golf! Walden Ladies Golf Association is open to all Walden Golf Club women members, regardless of handicap.  Annual dues are $50.00.       If you would like to join, please print out the registration form and mail it  along with your dues.   Membership Forms may also be dropped off at the Pro Shop. A large portion of the WLGA member dues are returned to its members.  Each week the winners of the game of the day are awarded prize money that is accumulated throughout the year in the form of Pro Shop credit which is  presented at the year-end luncheon. Credit is also given for birdies, chip-ins,  sandies, and eagles earned on playdays and in WLGA sponsored tournaments.     MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS By joining the club you in turn become an WLGA member and  receive the benefits and services that WLGA provides. The membership year runs from January through December.  Membership dues are prorated  after August 1st.   Member Directory It lists Board members, club rules, the tournament and playday schedule  and descriptions, and almost every Association activity. It's the first place you look if you have any questions. Weekly and Monthly Ladies Playday Weekly playdays are scheduled on Wednesdays 8:30. Play is delayed one hour in January through March and are dubbed "Winter Wednedays". One Saturday a month is scheduled for a ladies tournament or as a "playday". Club Championship and Luncheon The Club Championship is a tournament for golfers of all abilities. It is divided into flights so you will be playing with others of similar skill. To participate, you must have played in five WLGA events prior to the Championship. There is NO entry fee and lunch is provided. End of Season Party and Luncheon In December a luncheon is held at the Walden Yacht Club. The luncheon is preceded by a cocktail hour held at a member's home. There is no cost to a WLGA member. Newsletter--TEE TALK The newsletter is a good way to learn what's going on. It gives you results and notices of what's happening in the organization. It is distributed via e-mail at the first week of each month. Website--www.waldenlga.com Our website is another great way to get information. Much of the information from the directory is published here such as the tournament dates and descriptions and a list of current Board members. Ringers Ringers are an accumulation of your best scores, hole by hole, in play over the entire season. Post any ringers you have after each playday or tournament round (at Walden). You may be eligible for a prize at the end of the season. Birdie Book Players earn Pro-Shop credit for posting birdies, chip-ins, sandies, eagles, and water pars in the Birdie Book. All WLGA playday and WLGA tournament events held at home are eligible for posting. At the end of the season, Pro Shop credit is posted to your account.
